Têtes de Chien in concert, June 24,25,26 & 27, 2015
If you have never seen them before, then the first reaction is usually one of surprise: and what a weird name (dog heads!?). Têtes de Chien are a vocal quintet: 5 men, 5 voices. Parisians who decided to lay their hands on our traditional songs from the French provinces, from Béarn to greater Paris and even Catalonia.
Don’t be fooled by the neat smooth appearance, the dark suits and dark tie; these five guys get up to all sorts of tricks. They hold the stage brilliantly, running from side to side, using their voice but also no end of body movement, reminiscent of the style of the sadly missed « Frères Jacques ».
Their repertoire is very much their own style but there is still room for contemporary creations. Using their voices like instruments, from counter-tenor to bass, their singing is enhanced by some amazing sound and special effects.
